Eaton Strainer - Model 72L
Eaton Model 72L Plastic-Lined Simplex Strainer, 1" to 6", Carbon Steel with Tefzel® Liner – Flanged
Simplex pipeline strainers remove damage causing particulate matter from the process media,
protecting system components such as flow meters, pumps, and spray nozzles. The particulate
matter is captured in the strainer basket. The line is then temporarily shut down and the
basket removed for cleaning or replacement.
A continuous lining of advanced fluoropolymer resin makes the Model 72L simplex strainer an
excellent low cost alternative to exotic alloy strainers in a wide variety of corrosive or
abrasive lined piping applications. These applications include waste water treatment, paper
mills, hazardous materials, flue gas systems, ultra pure water handling, chemical and
petrochemical processing. The basic design is that of the popular time tested Model 72.
Completely lined (not just coated) with Tefzel, the wetted surfaces of the body and cover are protected incredibly well. This makes these surfaces impervious to the destructive nature of chemicals that would, typically, deteriorate other types of plastics and all but the most costly metal alloys. This lining also exhibits excellent mechanical strength when handling abrasive slurries. These strainers can be used in most lined piping or corrosive/abrasive applications due to the flouropolymer coated perforated baskets or mesh baskets made of Monel or Hastelloy C.
